Thursday, November 14, late in the morning, nearly 200 students from the Léonce-Gluard elementary school, located on boulevard Pierre-et-Marie-Curie in La Roche-sur-Yon, were evacuated due to a suspected leak gas. “Your children have been brought to safety until the fire department has checked the entire building,” indicates the director in an email sent to parents.

Children return to class around noon

On site, firefighters ultimately discovered no gas leak. The police, as reported by Le Journal du Pays Yonnais, banned traffic on Boulevard Pierre-et-Marie-Curie throughout the late morning. The children were finally able to return to their school around midday.
