Three years after its failed launch, GTA DE receives a big update that changes EVERYTHING! | Xbox

To say that Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition was released in disastrous condition is an understatement. Filled with bugs, offering questionable artistic choices and as a bonus fairly uneven performance, Grove Street Games' port disappointed fans, but a big update has come today to change the situation.

A big update for GTA Definitive Edition

Released by surprise this week, patch 1.112 brings numerous fixes and improvements to the three games in the compilation. From graphics to performance, including animations, and of course the various bugs that have affected the game since its launch, almost everything is there with notable changes.

This update also introduces a mode Classic Lighting which restores the look of the lighting and sky from the original games, a feature that was previously only available on mobile ports.

It radically changes the visual aspect of the three games, which thus regain the atmosphere of the original games, with the added bonus of fog which radically impacts the feeling of grandeur of the different cities.

The best time to enjoy the game?

In a thread available on Reddit, the community has compiled most of the fixes available in this update.

Please note that for the moment, the update is available on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S. It has obviously not yet been released on Xbox One and PS4.

If everything has not been corrected and several problems persist, the gaming experience is radically improved according to player feedback, and it is now a good way to discover these three video game monuments on modern consoles.

Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition is sold today at a reduced price on all media and it's probably the best time to embark on the adventure.
