Strong storm causes flooding in Sicily and Italy
A strong storm and heavy rain in southern Italy caused flooding on the island of Sicily on Wednesday.According to national media, the heavy rains that have affected daily life in the city of Catania and its surroundings in eastern Sicily since November 11 have caused significant flooding. In particular, the towns of Giarre, Acireale and Linguaglossa suffered severe flooding, several vehicles were swept away by the sea and significant material damage was reported.
Cars were stuck in mud, while flooded roads and trails turned into rivers. Firefighters rescued many people in distress in these areas.
