The government of the occupying country, Russia, has approved a reduction in the amount of one-time payments made to servicemen in case of injuries or disabilities due to combat.
What we know
Currently, the amount of compensation for injuries sustained during the war against Ukraine in Russia ranges from 100,000 to 3 million rubles, depending on the severity of the injuries.
According to the new rules, the payment of 3 million rubles is reserved for serious injuries defined in section I of the list of “mutilations”, which include, for example, traumatic amputations, multiple rib fractures, skull injuries and spinal cord and spine injuries.

Minor injuries described in Section II, such as closed head injuries with concussion, torn ligaments, soft tissue gunshot wounds and hearing damage, will result in compensation of one million rubles for victims . For other, less serious injuries, a payment of RUB 100,000 is provided.
