A third death threat letter to the same teacher was found in the Jean Monnet high school in Libourne (), Bleu Gironde reported on Wednesday, November 13, confirming information from Southwest.

This Wednesday, a new letter containing death threats was found on the school premises. This letter aims “the same teacher” than the two previous letters, indicates the Libourne prosecutor. It is a letter – found under the door of his classroom during the lunch break – “racist”specifies the mayor of Libourne, Philippe Buisson, even if the remarks are “less characterized” than the previous times.

A complaint has been filed. An investigation is open, it has been entrusted to the Libourne gendarmes. The colleagues of the targeted teacher say they are shocked and “request that the professor benefit from police protection”. A mobile security device will be set up by the rectorate from Thursday morning around the establishment. At the moment, it is not possible to know whether the three letters were written by the same person.

As a reminder, the teacher had already received a first anonymous letter in December 2023. The letter, openly racist, threatened to “slaughter him like a pig” as well as “all” the original students “Arab”. Classes were then suspended, half of the teachers at the establishment having decided to exercise their right of withdrawal. In September, a second letter was found containing, again, death threats and racist insults. Systematic searches were carried out at the entrance to the high school.
