The UFC-Que Choisir consumer union is often a spectator and advisor. She is all the more relevant when she becomes an actress by offering “her” good ideas.
At the start of a time of year when energy consumption is highest for heating, a boost in the price of gas is always a good idea. It's well known, alone we go faster but together, we go further. This is all the more the case in terms of purchasing power when the players join forces.
Prices locked for 24 months
UFC-Que Choisir is offering a group purchase of gas on Wednesday November 13, 2024 via its subsidiary SAS Que Choisir, with an offer at fixed prices over two years. Stuck and competitive.
The UFC commercial structure had launched a call for tenders from national gas suppliers so that they could offer the best, attractive and legally secure offer. Thus, the accepted offer, in other words the “lowest”, is that of Alterna-Energie. It is offered today to all subscribers served by the national distributor GRDF.
This offer is displayed at a price per kWh of gas “17 to 22% lower than the average benchmark price for the month of November” says UFC-Que Choisir. Depending on the tariff zone and the cooking or heating tariff option.
Up to €473 over one year
For example, according to the association: “A household using only gas for cooking or domestic hot water and consuming 4000kWh per year will save €166 on their bill.” Savings which could increase, at most, to €473 over one year for a consumption of 20,000kWh compared to Engie's “gateway” offer.
UFC-Que Choisir has offered this operation regularly since 2013 for gas and 2016 for electricity. In 2022, it was unable to offer it in the face of the price explosion. Last year, it obtained, through group purchasing, a saving of 12.1% compared to the regulated price.
