Early this Wednesday afternoon, a fire broke out rue Gaston-Chevrolet in , very close to the A31 motorway. The fire is still affecting the silo buildings in the Beaune-Vignoles industrial zone.

44 firefighters and two large ladders

More than ten vehicles from the Côte-d'Or fire brigade were mobilized on site: 44 firefighters are on the scene, from the centers of Beaune, Nolay, and Seurre.

There were also five fire vehicles including two forest fire tankers, two large ladders, a long-distance vehicle, a drone team and six command vehicles.

The dryer caught fire

According to Sdis 21, the fire started in a grain dryer containing around 60 tonnes of sunflowers. We do not yet know, at this time, the origin of this disaster.

Evacuations in progress

The D973 leaving Beaune and heading towards Seurre has been closed to traffic. All access to the site is blocked. Businesses in the sector will also be evacuated for obvious security reasons.

According to our information, there were no reported injuries. However, firefighters warn of “a risk of the building collapsing”.
