Sunday November 10, 2024, Solange and Jean Dhervillez celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary by getting married again in front of Mayor Alexandre Avril, in the Salbris wedding hall, in the presence of their family and friends.
Solange, a native of Saint-Viâtre, and Jean, a native of Salbris, met in 1962 at a ball in La Ferté-Imbault, became engaged and married in October 1964, in the same village. They are parents of two children, Sébastien and Stéphanie, grandparents of six grandchildren and great-grandparents of two great-grandchildren. Today they are at the head of a lovely, united and warm family.
Active residents in the town
These “newlyweds” were very active professionally, sportingly, in associations, and in municipal life. Solange was a seamstress, she also worked at Matra, like her husband, and was an Atsem at the La Chesnaie nursery school.
Jean, a carpenter by profession, was employed at Matra as a production technician. A veteran of twenty-seven months in North Africa, Jean is a great sportsman, he practices Cycling, has obtained forty victories, created the Salbris Cycling Club, was a municipal councilor, including six years as deputy, and president of the 'TOURIST OFFICE. They retired in 1996 and 1998.
