After the success of the first two editions in 2019 and 2020, the Abbé Pierre Foundation announces the return of the Pics d'Or, a satirical awards ceremony for the worst anti-homeless measures. It will be held on November 18, 2024, at the Théâtre de l'Atelier, in Paris. On this occasion, she calls, today, on citizens to take stock, with her, of the anti-homeless systems in our cities.
Since 2017 and its “Let’s Be Human” campaign, the Abbé Pierre Foundation has been warning about the installation of anti-homeless devices, which are multiplying throughout France. Peaks, bars, gates, rocks, anti-begging, anti-bivouac orders… these devices, a real scourge, prevent the most deprived people from sheltering or taking a little rest while making them invisible and moving them ever further away from the city centers. Hence the need to continue to denounce them!
To do this and ahead of the third Pics d'Or ceremony, the Abbé Pierre Foundation is taking stock of them and inviting the general public to also take up the issue. She invites citizens to identify them by photographing them, then publishing them on the site lespicsdor.fr.
« This denunciation is only possible thanks to the participation of everyone! The Abbé Pierre Foundation calls on every citizen who witnesses a device, everywhere in France, to report it. » declares Christophe Robert, general delegate of the Abbé Pierre Foundation.
Once identified, a jury will meet at the start of the school year to elect the worst devices in each category. They will be revealed on November 18 during the Pics d'Or ceremony in the presence of several comedians.
New features will mark this 3rd edition, including a prize which will be chosen by the public itself.
To report schemes, go to the Pics d’Or website.
