The second day of the trial of Mohamad Al Ballouz, accused in 2022 of the second degree murder of Synthia Bussières and the first degree of her two children, as well as arson, ended on November 12 at the Longueuil courthouse . Some of the evidence, which presented chilling images, was presented to the jury.

The 38-year-old defendant, who is in the process of gender reassignment and now identifies as Levanna Ballouz, was back in court Tuesday. The Crown, represented by Me Eric Nadeau and Me Laurence Lamoureux, exhibited dozens of photos taken at the crime scene by agent Pierre Lessard of the Longueuil agglomeration police service (SPAL) shortly after the events that occurred. in Brossard.

We see traces of blood in several rooms of the apartment on Boulevard Saint-Laurent, particularly in the bathroom where a puddle lies on the floor. It was in this room that the body of Synthia Bussières was found.

Called to testify, Officer Lessard said he noticed two fingerprints on beer bottles. At the request of the accused, who represents himself, Mr. Lessard confirmed that these were the only prints taken in the apartment.

The analysis carried out by his colleague Sarah Longtin, crime scene technician, concluded that the prints taken are positive with the comparative charts where those of the accused were located.

The trial, presided over by Justice Eric Downs, resumes tomorrow with more witnesses called by the Crown.
