A new demonstration to say no to the far right and the National Rally is taking place this Wednesday, June 19 evening in Lyon. At what time and where? Will there be other mobilizations?

10 days before the fateful date of the early legislative elections which take place on June 30 and July 7, 2024, demonstrations continue to be organized in the capital and in large and small towns in France. While last weekend, nearly 640,000 demonstrators took to the streets to oppose Jordan Bardella’s party (RN) at the gates of power. The announcement of new demonstrations, called by the entire left, the inter-union or associations like SOS Racisme, begins.

A new mobilization entitled “Facing the extreme right, popular response” is organized this Wednesday June 19, 2024 at 8 p.m. in Lyon at the call of the Insurrection Lyon group. The meeting is at Place de la Croix-Rousse in the 4th arrondissement. The organizers ask participants to come with “signs, banners and musical instruments”. Last weekend, between 10,000 and 15,000 people gathered in the streets of the capital of Gaul.

On BFM TV, the general secretary of the CGT Sophie Binet spoke of a “popular tidal wave” to “prevent an organized catastrophe”. EELV national secretary Marine Tondelier, present at the Parisian demonstration last weekend, spoke to the demonstrators: “Things are very simple today, it’s either the fascists or us. If you are here , is that you have chosen your camp But now it is all the others who must be sought out: those who are tired of voting, those who do not know, those who are afraid. , motivate them. We are together and we will win!”, she said.
