Floods caused by the Dana depression in Spain caused significant damage in Valencia in the south-east of the country, estimated at more than 20 billion euros, including 10 billion euros in losses for businesses. The Spanish government has planned a plan to rebuild the area in three phases: meeting the most urgent needs, rebuilding infrastructure and reestablishing communications, and modernizing infrastructure “to adapt it to climate change and industrialization”, relays The Country.
The implementation of this plan requires a significant workforce, which is lacking in the region. This is why construction companies have urged the Spanish Executive to call on foreigners, including Moroccans, to fill this gap.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has just issued a new royal decree to help the victims of Dana through several measures with a total cost of 3.77 billion euros. Among them are the extension of aid to damaged housing, refinancing facilities or an advance of 50% of the aid requested. This amount is in addition to the 10.6 billion allocated to disaster victims last week.
Likewise, an investment of around 2.6 billion euros will be mobilized for the reconstruction of roads, subways and bridges destroyed by Dana, as well as the repair of damaged wastewater treatment infrastructure.
