In the United States, a group of friends hit the lottery jackpot. One of the lucky winners had a reaction that was surprising to say the least.
In early October, three friends from Illinois learned they had hit the lottery jackpot.
A great reward for these players, who have known each other for around twenty years. As People points out, the lucky winners have gotten into the habit of playing the lottery together.
«We have a group of friends and sometimes we pool our money and buy a lottery ticket when the jackpots are big” Tommy, one of the winners, told Illinois Lottery officials.

And that's exactly what happened last October 4, when Tommy bought a Lucky Day Lotto ticket at a local gas station. The least we can say is that this American did not expect to see his life change overnight.
Indeed, the latter won with his friends the tidy sum of 1.4 million dollars (approximately 1,318,191 euros).
One of the winners makes a radical decision then calls his boss
Once the shock passed, Tommy hastened to warn his long-time comrades. According to him, the latter “thought he was joking» when he told them the good news.
And that's not all! He did not hesitate to call his boss to warn him and told him some surprising news:
«I told him “I won the lottery…but I’m still coming to work”“, remembers Tommy.

Without real surprise, the three winners decided to share the sum, approximately 466,666 dollars each (439,450 euros).
Tommy will use his share of the money to finance part of his daughter's wedding. He also plans to offer his friends and family American football tickets.
As for the rest of the group, one friend wants to use his earnings for retirement, while the other plans to pay for his children's college tuition.
«It's a life-changing win», agree the three friends.
At the moment, we don't know if Tommy has actually returned to work…
