The Head of State, Patrice Talon, will officially welcome the letters of credence of two new ambassadors, on November 14, 2024, at the Palais de la Marina.
These include Nadège Chouat, French ambassador to Benin, and Stéphane Mund, ambassador of the European Union.
The ceremony next Thursday is the culmination of a diplomatic process already started with the delivery of figurative copies of their credentials to Olushegun Bakari. Nadège Chouat undertook this process on August 31, 2024, while Stéphane Mund carried it out on September 10 of the same year.
The new French ambassador to Benin, Nadège Chouat, announced that she would continue the dynamic of her predecessor in the implementation of bilateral cooperation projects in areas of traditional cooperation between Benin and France.
For his part, Stéphane Mund expressed his desire to strengthen collaboration between Benin and the European Union, with particular emphasis on the areas of security, professional training and development.
On the other hand, the figurative copies of the credentials of Kakadé Bachiou, new ambassador of the Republic of Niger to Benin are still awaited by the head of Beninese diplomacy.
This announcement from France and the EU to the populations comes in a context where Niger and Benin led by Patrice Talon are trying to warm up their diplomatic relations.
