A Russian frigate equipped with a new generation of Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles carried out maneuvers in the English Channel and is carrying out tasks in the Atlantic Ocean, thus moving closer to the United States, official Russian news agencies reported on Tuesday .
Zircon missiles have a range of 1,000km. Totally stealthy, they can reach speeds of Mach 9 (11,000 km/h).

Exercises and simulations
The crew of the frigate thus took part in anti-terrorism exercisesrejecting simulations of aerial and marine drone attacks, they specified. Citing a statement from the press service of the Northern Fleet, the RIA agency said that the Frigate Admiral Golovko a “completed its crossing of the English Channel and is currently continuing its journey to carry out missions in designated areas of the Atlantic Ocean”.
