The urgent appeal was made during an official meeting at Bayan Palace, Kuwait, between the two heads of state, marking an important visit by Sheikh bin Zayed to Kuwait. The UAE news agency WAM reported that the discussions also focused on strategic relations between the Emirates and Kuwait, highlighting the mutual desire to strengthen their cooperation in key areas for the benefit of their respective peoples.
In this sense, the leaders underlined the importance of the historical ties uniting the two countries, reaffirming their commitment to consolidating this fraternal relationship. They also discussed regional and international developments, addressing in particular the growing tensions in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine and Lebanon.
According to WAM, Sheikh bin Zayed and Emir Mishal unanimously called for concerted action by the international community to establish a lasting ceasefire in these conflict zones, emphasizing the protection of civilians in accordance with the principles of international humanitarian law.
The two leaders also reiterated their unwavering support for Lebanon's territorial integrity and its unity, expressing deep solidarity with the Lebanese people in times of crisis. They insisted on the urgency of international intervention to stop the escalation of violence and ensure the security of civilian populations.
