For several months, the young man has allegedly set fire to several street furniture in Puy-de-Dôme.
The gendarmes arrested a 19-year-old young man suspected of being the author of several arson attacks in Puy-de-Dôme. Latest fact to date: this Friday, November 8 around 11 p.m., a hedge went up in flames in Pérignat-sur-Allier. Around forty meters of vegetation were burned. The fire caused no further damage or casualties and was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
According to the newspaper The Mountainthe military investigation led to the arrest last Saturday ofa young Puydômois of 19 years old. He lives near the scene of the fire which occurred in Pérignat.
Arson over several months
The young man is also accused of similar acts over several months. Fires started in hedges or on street furniture Pérignat-sur-Allier and neighboring towns such as La Roche-Noire. The suspect, referred this Monday to the Clermont-Ferrand public prosecutor's office after his custody, was placed in pre-trial detention.
He will be heard in court next January.
