“You’re going to take a bullet”: targeted by death threats, LFI deputy Thomas Portes will file a complaint

“You have family, they’re going to get acid in their mouth.” It is with these words that the death threat letter received by the deputy of La insoumise (LFI) Thomas Portes begins, which Le Parisien was able to consult. The elected official will indeed file a complaint, as our colleagues at Libération announced.

The deputy for the 3rd constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis received this letter on November 7, directly to his office at the National Assembly. A Nazi flag is drawn on the front, then a virulent and threatening text is written on the back of the small sheet sent to the elected official.

After the first threats aimed at his family, Thomas Portes is in turn directly targeted in the letter. “Then you’re going to take a bullet, little slut (…) Garbage Doors (…) Die (…) It’s not a joke. »

“We are the GUD (Union defense group, editor’s note) », Also claims the author of the letter. Very active in the 70s and 80s, this small ultra-right group came back to life at the end of 2022, before being dissolved again this summer by Gérald Darmanin. The former Minister of the Interior accused him in particular of connections with the National Rally, which for its part rejected these accusations.

“Far-right movements like the GUD have felt themselves growing wings since the arrival of Retailleau at Matignon,” comments Thomas Portes to Le Parisien. The elected official also confirms his intention to file a complaint.
