Algeria – JS Kabylie (JSK) is preparing to experience an unexpected and potentially detrimental break in the championship. According to an official, the Kabyle club should not play any more matches until December. This unusual situation is due to the call-up of six of its players to the National Military Team, which is preparing to represent Algeria at the African Military Games which will take place in Abuja, Nigeria, from November 18 to 30.

The six players concerned are Saïf Benrabah, Ahmed Maâtallah, Lounes Adjout, Ahmed Mammeri, Redjem and Radouane Berkane. They will fly to Abuja this Friday and will not return until the end of the competition, leaving a considerable void within the JSK squad. Deprived of these key elements, the team led by Abdelkader Benchikha is forced to suspend its activities in the championship, which risks disrupting its rhythm and progress.

Faced with this situation, coach Benchikha made the decision to give five days of rest to all of his players. Although no preparation course is planned to compensate for this interruption, the Kabyle coach plans to concentrate on strengthening certain aspects of the game, notably offensive efficiency, which remains a source of concern.

JSK had a start to the season marked by defensive weaknesses and a lack of realism in attack. Benchikha has already worked defensively by opting for a three central defender system, which has reduced the number of goals conceded. From now on, he wants to refocus his efforts on offensive efficiency, with particular emphasis on the work of the attackers in front of goal.

The case of Congolese Walter Bwalya is particularly worrying for Benchikha. The latter has only scored one goal in seven appearances, which represents an insufficient record for a striker of his caliber. The Algerian coach therefore intends to intensify offensive work during this break period, hoping that the team can come back stronger and more efficient in December, when the championship resumes.

Thus, this forced postponement could prove beneficial if the team manages to capitalize on this truce to correct its weaknesses and return in better shape. However, this wait also risks affecting the morale of the players and increasing the pressure as the next championship meetings approach. The supporters hope that this forced break will allow the JSK to find the necessary adjustments to relaunch a season which promises to be full of challenges.
