Libreville, Monday November 11, 2024 (News Gabon) – Jeannot Kalima believes that the new constitution for which citizens will be consulted on November 16 by referendum, aims to strengthen political stability, the independence of justice and good governance in Gabon.
In Gabon, mobilization is total during the current referendum campaign which pits Yes and No supporters against the electoral consultation next Saturday. On the ground, meetings, talks, door to door are organized by political parties, associations and other organizations throughout the national territory.
In the province of Haut-Ogooué for example, the provincial coordination of the Yes campaign mobilized the troops in a meeting it organized last Saturday at the CES Mamadou Lewo Gymnasium in Franceville before deploying on the ground.
The message from the team led by Jeannot Kalima is clear: all the populations of four (4) districts of Franceville and eleven (11) departments of Haut-Ogooué must vote Yes.
Why will they make this choice next Saturday? The reasons are simple. “The new constitution will strengthen political stability, the independence of justice and good governance in Gabon,” explained Jeannot Kalima in substance.
According to him, this massive Yes vote should not only mark history, but also show an example to others for a new start for a new Gabon oriented towards the development and well-being of the populations that the new constitution has taken into account. account. In the new constitution, the interest of the people is put forward.
This is why all citizens of voting age, explains Mr. Kalima, must flock to the polling stations to fulfill their civic duty. He is not wrong because his message was well received by the base.
“This mobilization, which has taken on the appearance of a demonstration of force, has two important characteristics: It proves that the Altogoveans fully appreciate the importance of this citizen consultation and reflects the clear and resolute support of the populations of Haut-Ogooué to the new constitutional text ”, explained Arnauld Clobert Lebomo, Campaign Director for the first district of Moanda who traveled from Franceville.
Launched on November 6, the referendum campaign will end on Friday November 15, 2024 at midnight to make way for the vote on the new constitution the next day.
Written by the National Constitutional Committee on the basis of the recommendations of the national dialogue of April 2024 and the proposals of citizens, followed by its passage to the Constituent Assembly, the new constitution was adopted in the Council of Ministers before being submitted to the referendum.
United and determined, the populations of Haut-Ogooué will therefore say Yes to the draft constitution next Saturday with pride and conviction for a strong, united and prosperous Gabon.
