Nice and its Promenade des Anglais, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, will host the last
Olympic torch relay on the Riviera for a major popular celebration. Sports activities linked to Nice clubs (athletics, basketball, breakdancing, skateboarding,
judo …) in the presence of the great champions are planned with, in particular, from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.,
demonstrations of freestyle soccer mixed duo by Renaud Mauleon and Sixtine de Mareschal. Demonstrations of dance and one BMX show by athletes who will participate in the Olympics (flat BMX,
initiations, street art, dance, DJ with show) are also planned.

Arrive early to enjoy the show

While waiting for the cauldron to be lit, the people of Nice will also be able to enjoy introductory graffiti and freestyle football stands. The ceremony around the Cauldron will take place on the Quai desUnis. Two secure entrances will be reserved for the public on either side of the celebration site: one at the corner Max Gallo / Promenade des Anglais and the other opposite the Restaurant Di Piu. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Open to the public from 3:30 p.m.

A timed route

Before lighting the cauldron, the torchbearers will travel the entire Promenade des Anglais, starting at number 470 at 5:56 p.m. The transition to the level of California will take place around 6:15 p.m. then in front of Mediterranean University Center at 6:54 p.m.. Then, at 7:20 p.m., the last torchbearer will arrive at the celebration site, enter the sports slab located in the center of the site and light the cauldron.
