The Old Lions 55+ scored their first World Cup victory. The competition can be followed in this article.
A little report from these last two days which saw our seniors recover after two difficult defeats.
Day off
“The team that laughs together stays together.” » – John Cleese.
The BOL55+ team benefited from a day of rest after its first 2 World Cup matches. There’s nothing like a group excursion to recharge your batteries for the next match!
Visit Rotorua and Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, a geothermal park famous for its colorful landscapes, notably the Champagne Pool, and its fumaroles followed by a stop at Hells Gate Geothermal Park, its therapeutic mud baths and swimming pools. A BOL55+ team that has fun together on and off the field and now has its first World Cup victory.
First victory
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”: quote from Confucius.
After 2 defeats, the BOL55+ have their first victory in the World Cup, and what a victory! 7 goals and a clean sheet, just that. Collective goals and individual exploits, there was all that in this match which is now the benchmark match. This result allows us to aim for third place in Pool A… provided we beat the formidable Irish the day after tomorrow.
Then there will be 2 ranking matches for places 5 to 8. Thank you for your many encouragements from Belgium and elsewhere, it warms our hearts here on the other side of the world!
