Little worried by the Limburgers, the residents of Parc Duden scored a new goal just before the break. Scorer then passer, Lapoussin delivered a perfect cross for the head of Promise David who put his team in safety at the best of times.
Returning from the locker room, Tolu was close to reducing the score with a header but it was ultimately the Unionists who found the net a few minutes later. Found by Lapoussin, Ivanovic armed a shot deflected by the Genko goalkeeper. The ball landed at the feet of Sadiki who scored the third goal of the evening. If the VAR intervened to potentially cancel the goal for a foul by Lazare on Heynen, this ultimately did not happen.
Shortly after the hour mark, Sykes threw David through. The attacker used all his power to get rid of the Genko defense and then deceived Van Crombrugge to score a double.
Thanks to this victory, the Union moves up to seventh place before facing OHL after the international break.
