“My only red line will be compromise with macronism and the left,” declares Eric Ciotti

The court’s decision to invalidate his exclusion from the presidency of the Republicans “seemed obvious” to Eric Ciotti, the president of the Les Républicains (LR) group. Two days after a first political office excluding him from the party, then after a second held on Friday morning taking the same decision, the summary judge of the Paris judicial court, seized by Eric Ciotti, decided, Friday evening, “to order as a precautionary measure (…) the suspension of the effects of the definitive exclusion decisions taken against Mr. Ciotti by the political bureau on June 12 and 14, 2024.”

“Our statutes had been trampled on, in violation of all our democratic operating rules, but also of the law. Some attempted a coup outside the law to take control of the party, but justice has been done and I am happy about it,” reacted Eric Ciotti, in Le Journal du Dimanche.

“I hope to come together tomorrow to straighten out our political family. Without any sectarianism or rancor, everyone is and will be welcome whatever the attitudes and positions held this week. My only red line will be compromise with macronism and the left”explained the president of the LR group, adding tenderly “hands in particular to François-Xavier Bellamy and David Lisnard, so that we can propose a clear and strong political offer for the legislative elections”.

“Our alliance with Jordan Bardella and the National Rally marks the renewal of a true popular alliance at a critical moment when it is still possible to save the country from decline. France could disappear under a far-left authoritarian regime! »he concluded.
