A presentation in January?
At the same time, according to information from several Italian media, tensions appear between RCS Sport et son sponsor principal, Enel Spawho allegedly refused an increase in his investment of 3 million euros requested by RCS. Some analysts believe that the organizer of the Giro perhaps seeks to compensate for the shortfall linked to Albanian uncertainties. Other information comes from the Aosta Valley regional council, where Julius Grosjacquesthe Tourism assessor, confirmed the dates of the stages planned in the region, while indicating that the officialization of the route is now postponed until January 2025. According to him, the potential route changes would only concern the first week of racing, the final stages remaining unchanged.
This postponement is a step backwards for the Girowhose route will be revealed after The Returnunlike 2024 where it even preceded the Tour de France. Despite the uncertainty, the Giro 2025 remains highly anticipated, stars of the peloton like Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) ou Primoz Roglic (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) could participate, although this logistical uncertainty still complicates the confirmation of the presence of some of them.
