After Cramoisy, Mouchy-le-Châtel and Villers-sous-Saint-Leu at the start of the week, ten new municipalities of Oise have just been recognized as being in a state of natural disaster after the violent floods which hit the department last May.

The Prefecture of Oise announces that the following ten municipalities have been recognized in state of natural disaster by interministerial decree published in the Official Journal of June 14, 2024. Here are the towns and villages in question.

Ten new municipalities concerned

First of all, eight municipalities are affected by the floods and mudslides that occurred between the 1er and last May 2.

  • Balagny-sur-Thérain,
  • Cauvigny,
  • Cirès-les-Mello,
  • Foulangues,
  • Mouy,
  • Noailles,
  • Puiseux-en-Bray,
  • Saint-Leu-d’Esserent.

Note the presence of Cirès-lès-Mello, which had been particularly affected. The mud had risen to more than a meter high in this town in the south of Oise.

Two other municipalities were recognized as being in a state of natural disaster, this time for floods and mudslides occurred on May 20 and 21: Songeons and Montreuil-sur-Thérain.

“The Oise prefecture reminds that the victims have a 30 day deadline from the publication of this decree to make their claim declaration to their insurance companies,” state services indicate.
