Last week, Manon Riouat, production and communications manager for the Drom-Kreiz Breizh Akademi association, took stock after the Bogue d'or.
Since 2001, the association has created relays between Western European productions and popular musicians for the promotion of world music.
In this context, the Algerian musicians from the Diwan of Biskra performed at the Bogue d'or at the end of October. They made known their rhythms and their instruments from Gnawa music, played by the descendants of slaves from black Africa in the Maghreb. “Last week continued with training with Algerian musicians. Around fifteen people from all over France were introduced to the rhythms of the Diwan. »
Initially scheduled for early October in Algeria, the training was canceled at the last minute. The Kreiz Breizh Akademi sought a solution to maintain it. “This was possible thanks to the Breton Cultural Group of Redon, which found a venue for us, the P’tit Théâtre Notre-Dame. »
This was an opportunity to forge new links, since the Diwan-Diwân group, which will perform on May 16 in Pontchâteau, will return to Redon to offer a session to the students of the Anne-Sylvestre school.
