The Liberian President, Joseph Boakaigave back visit on Wednesday June 12, 2024 in Monrovia to the former Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleafto express his sincere condolences on the occasion of the death of his son Charles Sirleafthe former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Liberia.

According to the Liberian presidency, during the visitPresident Boakai shared his memories of the dedication of Charles Sirleaf in public service and expressed deep admiration for his contributions to the nation.

Boakai also sympathized with the immeasurable loss felt not only by Ms. Sirleaf and her family, but also by the entire Liberian population. He assured his former leader of the nation’s unwavering support and solidarity as she goes through the period of mourning.

In return, Mrs. Sirleaf expressed, on behalf of her family, her great gratitude to President Boakai for his visit timely and prayers for his family.

let’s remember that Charles Sirleafthe eldest son of the former President Ellen Johnson Sirleafdied in early June in Accra, Ghana at the age of 68.

Charles’ remains were repatriated from Ghana to Monrovia in Liberia last week. Several close relatives attended the event including the mother, Ellen Johnson Sirleafwho was visibly affected by the sight of the lifeless body of her late son.
