A fire broke out on Thursday, around 10:15 p.m., at the Preney farm, located outside Saulieu, at 2, rue du Champ-d'Autun.
Quickly on the scene, the thirty firefighters sent to the scene took charge of the operations to try to contain the flames and bring the three occupants of the premises to safety.
No injuries to report
Fortunately, no injuries were reported; the house being isolated from the others, but the fire which lasted all night caused great damage, completely destroying a barn in which straw was stored. The residential house adjoining it only suffered some damage to the roof, therefore not requiring the rehousing of its occupants.
Present on the scene, Martine Mazilly, mayor of Saulieu, however offered her help to the family. “They had bought this place to restore it; It's sad, even if the main thing is that there are no victims. »
According to the investigation which was entrusted to the soldiers of the local community of brigades, who were on site, the first elements seem to favor the accidental trail; the use of a poorly extinguished bread oven could be the cause of this fire.
