In a press release sent on June 12 to Greenpeace supporters, the association’s general director, Jean-François Julliard, indicated that he had decided to “reorient the majority of current activities in order to put all [ses] forces in the struggle to see a desirable alternative emerge.” “The extreme right in power would be nightmarish for the future of our country. This is the worst-case scenario for climate and biodiversity protection […] for our purchasing power and for our rights. It is also a threat to all associations which, like ours, have a crucial counter-power role in defending the environment. Our power of action and our freedom of speech could be hampered”, he writes. Questioned by AEF info, the director of climate and fossil fuel campaigns, Hélène Bourges believes that Greenpeace’s duty is to “give keys to reading” .
