The veil is lifted. Olivier Caracotch, the public prosecutor of Djon, held a press conference this Thursday, November 7 at the Dijon judicial court.
The magistrate gave the latest information on this woman found stabbed in Ruffey-lès-Echirey. The main suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday November 5. They are the victim's stepdaughter and her boyfriend, both 16 years old. To clarify, the daughter-in-law is the daughter of the victim's spouse.
“From the hearings and additional investigative acts carried out during these police custody and subject to the presumption of innocence of those concerned, the boyfriend can be accused of having inflicted the fatal blows on the victim”declared Olivier Caracotch this Thursday. The little friend “do not dispute” the facts with which he is accused. But the public prosecutor specifies that he “explains that he was able to commit them in a daze and had very little memory of his possible act”. The young man also indicated where the “pocket knife” which was allegedly used to repeatedly hit the victim in the neck. The weapon was found buried in a wood.

The daughter-in-law and her boyfriend were presented to an investigating judge and indicted for attempted murder and murder respectively. During the investigations carried out by the Is-sur-Tille gendarmerie and the Dijon research section, a “significant disagreement” between the victim and her stepdaughter was brought to light during the hearings.
The daughter-in-law was present when the emergency services intervened. On the other hand, the boyfriend would have slipped away before. He reportedly left the scene in his mother's vehicle. The daughter-in-law would have facilitated his escape. The boyfriend's mother, her son and daughter-in-law were taken into custody on November 5. For the first time, she was exonerated.
As a reminder, the investigation concerns the discovery of the body of a 49-year-old woman in Ruffey-lès-Echirey. The victim was found stabbed at his home on Tuesday October 29. Unconscious, she was rushed to Dijon University Hospital. She died of her injuries a few hours later.
The funeral will take place this Friday, November 8.
