Stars are not exempt from following the rules, much less those of the highway code.

As reported 20 minutes, Omar Sy has been sentenced by Swiss justice to a suspended financial sentence for two speeding tickets. The actor received a very salty fine after ignoring the payment of two fines. He is ordered to pay 31,500 Swiss francs, or nearly 32,500 euros.

According to a criminal order dated at the end of May and consulted by our colleagues, the Frenchman was found guilty of “serious violation of road traffic rules”. The two offenses committed in quick succession by the actorUntouchables date back to last summer. On July 19, his motorcycle registered in France was flashed at 92 km/h near Geneva, on a road where the maximum speed is limited to 50 km/h. The next day, the star was flashed again while driving at 98 km/h on a road limited to 60 km/h.

Recidivist

Two months later, Swiss justice sent two letters to Omar Sy, to which he did not respond, using his “right to remain silent“. In its decision, the prosecution specifies that the actor “did not transmit the slightest document capable of demonstrating that he was not the author of the alleged offenses, it being further emphasized that he also did not provide the contact details of other persons likely to have drove the vehicle in question at the time of the alleged events.

Consequently, justice punishes “the fact of creating a serious danger for the safety of others or taking the risk of doing so by a serious violation of a road traffic rule”. The one who made himself known alongside Fred Testot can still oppose this conviction, specifies the Swiss daily. The 46-year-old actor is not his first speeding ticket. In 2008, he was flashed at 185 km/h on his motorbike on a road limited to 110 km/h.
