The RED Box, the one that focuses on speed

The RED Box is therefore one of the two cheapest internet boxes with no duration conditions. For €25.99/month, it offers:

  • A fiber speed up to 500 Mb/s downloading and sending;
  • THE unlimited calls to landlines in France and to more than 100 destinations;
  • A bouquet of 35 TV channels.

With the possibility of adding options like a 4K TV decoder or Wi-Fi 6 for a few euros more per month. The big advantage of the RED Box is its very fast fiber speed of up to 500 Mb/s in download and upload. And that is more than convincing where most low-cost boxes cap at 300 Mb/s.

Although for the most demanding, it is even possible to opt for the2 Gb/s Fiber option for 7 euros more per month. This provides a download speed of up to 2 Gb/s shared (1 Gb/s max per device) and 700 Mb/s sending!

The Sosh Box, the inexpensive box with Orange fiber

The other internet box at €25.99/month with no time limit is the Sosh Box. An offer very similar to the RED Box, but with some differencesyou will see :

  • A fiber speed up to 300 Mb/s downloading and sending;
  • THE unlimited calls to landlines in France and to more than 100 destinations;
  • A bouquet of more 140 TV channels (on demand).

Here too, there are paid options such as the TV decoder. But the big advantage of the Sosh Box is its very complete TV bouquet of more than 140 chains accessible via the Orange TV app. While we are just 35 channels with the RED Box. Sosh therefore has more than enough to satisfy all television fans who opt for the TV option.

On the other hand, its fiber speed is a little slower than that of the RED Boxwith 300 Mb/s instead of 500 Mb/s. That said, for purely traditional use, it remains more than sufficient!

Is there anything cheaper? OK, but watch out for the yoyo effect!

Of course, there are even cheaper box offers, such as Orange Just Livebox Special Series at €19.99/month during 6 months. Or again, the Bbox Fit from Bouygues Telecom at €19.99/month for one year. But be careful, because these ultra-attractive rates are only temporary !

After the first 6 months, the price of the Just Livebox Special Series increases to €33.99/month, an increase of €14. As for the Bbox Fit, it increases to €32.99/month after the first year, or €13 more per month. Result, over one or two years, you will actually pay for your internet subscription more expensive than with the RED Box or the Sosh Box at a fixed rate of €25.99/month.

L’yoyo effect of prices can therefore have unpleasant surprises in store for you! Note, however, that the Just Livebox Special Series offers fiber speed up to 400 Mb/s downloading and sending. It also offers you unlimited calls to landlines in France metropolitan and DOM.

In addition, note that if you are already a mobile customer with Orange, you can save up to €180/year on each package. For its part, the Bbox Fit also offers fiber speed of up to 400 Mb/s for download/upload and unlimited calls to landlines in France and to more than 110 countries.

So, what is this fiber box that doesn’t really break the bank?

To have a cheap box in the long term, it is better opt for a fixed rate offer as the RED Box or the Sosh Box at €25.99/month. You will thus avoid the yoyo effect of prices charged by certain operators after the first year. Between the two, the choice will mainly depend on your needs:

  • Bet on the RED Box if you want it very fast fiber up to 500 Mb/sor even 2 Gb/s with the dedicated option;
  • Prefer the Sosh Box if you want benefit from the quality of Orange fiber.

In any case, you will have a quality internet box at a low price, without bad surprises !
