This Citroën 2CV Sahara dates from 1964. The car has belonged to the same family for over 50 years. It was purchased in the 1970s by the grandfather of the current owner. He was mayor of a small town in Isère but also the manager of a quarry.
A restoration after 30 years of inactivity
Although he used it for around twenty years, this 2CV Sahara found itself in the closet at the beginning of the 1990s. It would not come out until 30 years later. At the start of the 2020 decade, the family begins a major restoration of the Citroën from a specialist. Restoration which allows the car to regain its original color, Embrun Green.
Engines and gearbox are original
Osenat, the house which is auctioning this 2CV Sahara, explains that both engines are original as well as the gearbox. It is sold with “numerous period accessories such as the grille cover or the Citroën snow chains”.
What price for this 2CV Sahara at auction?
The auction takes place this Sunday, November 10 at the Epoq'Auto show in Lyon from 2 p.m. Its price is estimated between 90,000 and 120,000 euros.
