« The price of fuel must be regulated in Corsica, and as quickly as possible. ».
The collective “ Let's act against the high cost of fuel » once again steps up to the plate and denounces the excess margins that oil operators in Corsica (the Ruby and Vito groups in particular) would make. He also denounces the inertia of the Corsican community which, according to him, is no longer interested in the issue of fuel prices since 2021. “ We spent a lot of energy on institutional issues when the daily lives of Corsicans deserve better than that. » indicates Jean-Marc Andreani, one of the members of the collective. And to continue: “ the status quo benefits the players in the oil sector who overproduce to the detriment of the Corsican population and the island economy. »
Recalling that the competition authority was referred by the former government for a study on the monopoly situation in the oil sector in Corsica, the collective is today asking to be received by the prefect of Corsica, just arrived from Overseas (where the regulation of fuel prices is in force), as well as by “Madame Corsica” of the Government so that this regulation of fuel prices is put in place. « This measure already taken overseas would be perfectly applicable in Corsica » according to Frédéric Poletti, another member of the collective “let's act against the high cost of fuel”.
