During a press conference held in Akanda last Tuesday, the national office of the NGO Agir ensemble pour le Gabon, explained to the public the reasons why it calls on the entire population to vote massively yes on November 16.

For the national president, Brice Arnaud Ondo Minko, the project of the new constitution guarantees the construction of a fairer, more incisive, more egalitarian and more democratic state.

“It is a project which emanates from the general will of the Gabonese people in their diversity. This new project strengthens our democracy in that it guarantees the protection of all human rights and alternation at the top of the State. It is the only constitution since the 1960s to be written by Gabonese constitutionalists, for Gabonese people and it was adapted to our environment. All Gabonese people are taken into account in this constitution. Which wasn't the case with the old one. All this progress can only satisfy us and lead us to call on the Gabonese population to mobilize to vote yes to this referendum,” he declared.
