The Bartholdi prizes and scholarships will be awarded this Friday, November 8 in Basel. These awards honor international experiences and internships, and deserving people who have worked to open up to other countries or to promote the influence of our trinational Rhine Valley.
The Bartholdi Prize strengthens attractiveness and the competitiveness of the Trinational Metropolitan Region of the Upper Rhine
The Bartholdi Prize has been created in 2001European Year of Languages, on the initiative of Christel Ladweinthen lecturer at the University of Haute Alsace in Colmar. It bears the name of Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904), creator of the Statue of Liberty and native of Colmar. Since 2001, this prize has been awarded annually in one of the university towns in the German-French-Swiss Upper Rhine area.

The Bartholdi Prize is to date the only prize in the trinational region of the Upper Rhine. Its objectives are to promote cross-border courses and encourage students from our Region to carry out professional internships abroad. Anaïs Wrobel has led the structure for nearly 13 years.
