The young Reds fell behind inside five minutes at the Academy when Kerim Alajbegovic scored from the penalty spot, but their response was emphatic.
Kieran Morrison managed to equalize before half-time, and Carter Pinnington, Keyrol Figueroa and Trent Kone-Doherty scored after the break to secure a comprehensive victory that saw Barry Lewtas' side make it seven points from four Youth League matches this season.
Leverkusen took an early lead when Alajbegovic sent Kornel Misciur the wrong way from 12 yards after the Liverpool keeper had brought down Montrell Culbreath.
The young Reds responded well, but were unable to test goalkeeper Jesper Schlich, with Leverkusen keeping the hosts at bay.
Half-chances kept coming for Ranel Young and Trey Nyoni, but Kone-Doherty's influence on the match grew as the striker, playing on the right of Liverpool's attack, won his personal duel against the visitors' left-back.
Positive work from Kone-Doherty, who drove into the penalty area before cutting the ball away, saw Nyoni see an effort blocked from 18 yards.
The equalizer seemed inevitable and it arrived 36 minutes from time when Morrison and Nyoni accelerated the movement of a patient team with a double lead in Leverkusen territory.
Nyoni burst into the penalty area and blocked another shot, but Morrison was on hand to skillfully grab the rebound.
Lewtas' side then went in search of another goal, but were grateful to Misciur for keeping them level at half-time as the goalkeeper denied Artem Stepanov at the end of a counterattack. Leverkusen.
