Lidl is urgently recalling chicken legs sold last October in its stores. Quickly check if you have them at home.
LIDL has decided to launch a major recall regarding chicken thighs contaminated with listeria. If you bought them, do not consume them!
Preserve your budget with discounter prices
Lidl is the good address for shopping savings on everyday groceries in times of inflation. With prices increasing everywhere, it is good to know a brand that guarantees to boost the purchasing power of consumers.
Indeed, the German brand, established in France since the end of the 80s, practices very affordable prices and offers numerous discounts to the delight of the French. They can buy all the products of their choice without spending too much.
One thing is certain, it allows them to manage their budget every month. Especially since Lidl also offers great deals on non-food products. Furniture, items for parties or leisure, fashion references… Find incredible offers aimed at small budgets at the discount firm.
In the aisles of Lidl, low prices are not only there. The quality of the products is also a value that the discounter is keen to highlight.
The brand offers its customers fresh produce every day (vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, etc.) and even organic products. Shopping at the brand is the guarantee of filling your fridge with foodstuffs with verified traceability.
But as with all major retail brands, sometimes a problem arises. This was the case last month for Leclerc who had to urgently recall cereals from its “bio village” Landmark Brand.
Lidl recalls this contaminated meat
This time, it's Lidl's turn to sound the alarm on chicken thighs from the “Étal du poultryer” brand sold in 1 kg trays. This meat would be contaminated with listeria.
As a reminder, this bacteria is responsible for listeriosis disease. It is found in the environment, particularly in soil, vegetation, water and the feces of certain animals. The latter can be the cause of a food poisoning which can become severe and have serious consequences on health. This disease can lead to encephalitis or meningitis in people at risk.
In pregnant women, listeriosis can cause premature birth or even miscarriage. Its incubation period can also be up to eight weeks. We must therefore remain alert to potential symptoms. In particular fever, headaches or even digestive disorders. Like nausea, diarrhea or even vomiting.
It is to prevent all these risks that Lidl warns against the consumption of these chicken legs whose reference is 2024-10-0178 written on the packaging.
The batch concerned by the consumer alert is for its part No. 3224037506. The expiration date for this meat was 04/10/2024. If you have frozen it, it is best to throw it away. You can also provide proof of your purchase from Lidl to obtain a refund from your brand.
