Tây Ninh province (Southern Vietnam) helped Cambodian rescue teams put out a fire in a casino located in Tbong Khmum province, saving four trapped employees, provincial police announced on November 4.

On November 3, around 8 a.m., a fire broke out on the first and seventh floors of a casino in Ponhea Krek District, Tbong Khmum Province, Cambodia.

Cambodian firefighters sent three fire trucks to the scene, but failed to put out the fire and requested help from the border province of Tây Ninh.

Tay Ninh police sent 15 police officers and three fire trucks across the Cambodian border.

On site, three rooms in the apartment were on fire, and the fire covered approximately 80 m². Smoke and toxic gases had spread to the fourth, fifth and sixth floors.

Tây Ninh firefighters managed to rescue four injured people who were trapped on the fifth and sixth floors. The fire was put out around 1:30 p.m.

According to initial investigations, an electrical problem in one of the rooms was the cause of the fire, and further research is underway.
