It's been several years since iOS 18.1 arrived on all compatible iPhones and with it, the first Apple Intelligence features. For the moment, Writing Tools or Correction, capable of erasing unwanted elements (or people) from a photo, are reserved for American users. Apple Intelligence will not arrive here until April 2025, as the Apple brand recently announced.
By then, several major AI features will have already been released in the United States, starting with Image Playground, Visual Intelligence and the ChatGPT integration with Siri. All these new features should be released in December via iOS 18.2. Mark Gurman says a little more about the release date of the update on iPhone.
iOS 18.2 scheduled for first week of December, says Mark Gurman
We already know that iOS 18.2 should be released next December on iPhone. However, Apple has been careful not to give a more precise release window for the moment. The very well informed Mark Gurman does not hesitate to do so thanks to his sources. According to the Bloomberg journalist, the update will arrive on iPhone during the first week of December. Obviously, Mark Gurman does not yet know the exact launch date, probably because it has still not been decided internally. In any case, American users will not have to wait until the end of the month to discover iOS 18.2 as was the case for iOS 18.2.
Remember that the first developer beta of iOS 18.2 is already available. In addition to Image Playground, the image generator designed by Apple, this update will also bring Visual Intelligence. This is an equivalent of Google Lens working thanks to the iPhone 16 camera control button.
« The next major Apple Intelligence update will come in April as part of iOS 18.4 and will include improvements for Siri. It should allow the digital assistant to tap into people's data and respond to queries based on the information displayed on their screens », Adds Mark Gurman. iOS 18.4 is precisely the update thanks to which Apple Intelligence should arrive in France.
