A week after Félix Lebrun's coronation at the WTT Champions in Montpellier, here we go again. French table tennis players cross the Rhine to participate in the WTT Champions in Frankfurt, Germany, from November 3 to 10.
Sunday November 3, it was Félix Lebrun who opened the ball in the first round against another Habs, Simon Gauzy. The first French player to win a WTT Champions (second level of the world circuit behind the Grand Smash, equivalent to those of the Grand Slam in tennis), last week in Hérault, the youngest of the Lebrun brothers won three sets to one (11-3, 8-11, 12-10, 11-8).
Félix Lebrun (world No. 5) had already beaten Simon Gauzy (No. 37) in the first round in Montpellier a few days ago. He will challenge in the round of 16 the winner of the duel between the Australian Nicolas Lum and the South Korean An-Jaehyun.
A shock of French girls from 8es final?
This Monday, November 4, it's the turn of the other French people to make their big debut. Alexis Lebrun will have a lot to do at the end of the day against the No. 8 seed and defending champion in Frankfurt, the Taiwanese Lin Yun-Ju. He will play at 7:05 p.m.
