Anonymous people and Nicolas teammates came to leave candles and flowers at the Rugby Club Romanais Péageois (RCRP) stadium, this Sunday, November 3, after the death of the 22-year-old young man, killed by bullets.
Teammates, anonymous people… Several people came to leave candles and flowers this Sunday, November 3, in front of the portrait of Nicolas in front of the entrance to the Rugby Club Romanais Péageois (RCRP). Two days earlier, the 22-year-old was seriously injured by a bullet in the head during a shooting near a nightclub in Valencia, before being pronounced dead this Saturday.
“It’s my little one who insisted on coming. And then, it’s important for me because… There you go, it’s someone who is a bit part of our family”, explains, moved, Laurent, educator at the club.
Here, Nicolas was known to everyone. He had been playing since he was 6 years old. “Nicolas was a loyal teammate. A lover of his sport, since he was present all the time. Whether at his matches or those of the youth teams that he came to encourage quite regularly”, describes Tristan Tardy to BFMTV, co-president of the club.
Nicolas’s teammates paid tribute to the latter on Saturday at the Valencia hospital. Some were out with him on Thursday evening when shots rang out against the Le Seven nightclub in Saint-Péray.
“Why us? Why twice? Why them?”
Barely a year ago, another club player, Thomas, 16, was killed in a brawl in Crépol (Drôme). If the two cases are not linked, Nicolas’ death revives painful memories.
Patrick Bodoin, co-president of the RCRP, says he is “stunned” and “stunned”. He questions: “Why us? Why twice? Why them?” In order to deal with this new drama, a psychological unit will be set up within the club this week.
In addition to Nicolas, two people were hit during the shooting. It concerns a young woman shot in the leg and one of the bouncers at the nightclub. This Sunday, their lives were not considered to be in danger, according to our information.
An investigation was opened by the Privas public prosecutor’s office, in Ardèche. Investigations are entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).
According to the first elements of the investigation, the author of the first shots was a man dressed in black and wearing a balaclava. This Sunday morning, no arrests had been made.
This shooting could be linked to drug trafficking, BFMTV learned from reliable sources. This Sunday, an online fundraiser was launched by Nicolas’s family to finance his funeral.
