The President of Iran announced this Sunday, November 3, that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran's allies could influence Tehran's response to Israeli strikes.
Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday, November 3, that a possible ceasefire between Tehran's allies and Israel could influence his country's response to the Israeli strikes carried out on October 26 against Iran.
If Israel “accepts a ceasefire and stops massacring the oppressed and innocent populations of the region, this could influence the intensity and nature of our response,” he said, quoted by the agency official press Irna.
Israel is at war with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Palestinian Hamas in Gaza, two movements allied with Iran.
Iran “will not leave any aggression against its sovereignty and security unanswered,” added the Iranian president. On October 26, Israeli warplanes carried out strikes on military sites in Iran, in retaliation for Iranian missile launches against Israel on October 1.
Iran presented its October 1 attack as a response to the assassination of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders.
Israel warned Iran against retaliating for its attack, while Tehran promised to respond.
On Saturday, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said: “The enemies, both the United States and the Zionist regime, must know that they will certainly receive a scathing response to what they are doing against Iran and the front of the resistance.
