More than 500 people took part on Sunday November 3 in a march in tribute to Emilio, fourteen years old, in Alénya in the Pyrénes-Orientales near Perpignan. The teenager died ten days ago, probably at the hands of his mother and stepfather.

White T-shirts, flowers, portraits of Emilio, a heavy silence and a lot of emotion. Emilio's friends advanced this Sunday at the head of this white march that they themselves had organized in the village of Alénya, near Perpignan in the Pyrénées-Orientales, to pay tribute to the teenager found dead at his home, probably after being badly beaten by his father-in-law.
“He was always there for me. He always had the right words.
I love you my brother, I will never forget you.
It's been a huge shock since we heard the news.
Mayor of Alénya
There is also a lot of anger and incomprehension. We expect a lot from the investigation and justice. It's a long time. You have to be patient”, entrusts Jean-André Magdalou, the mayor of the village to our France 3 Pays Catalan team.
Some young people had known Emilio since kindergarten but almost all of them had lost sight of him in recent weeks. Until they learned that the police had found his body at the family home on the night of October 23 to 24. Arrested in Val d'Oise, his mother and stepfather were indicted for murder of a fifteen-year-old person.
Fifteen years is the birthday that Emilio would have celebrated on October 27 if he had survived what the autopsy report describes as “a multitude of violent blows inflicted on the entire body”.
Starting from Alénya town hall, the procession went to the victim's home.
On October 27, 2024, Emilio's friends had already gathered here to mark this anniversary. Today, they paid him a poignant tribute.
