Francesco Bagnaia won the Malaysian Grand Prix MotoGP race ahead of Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini. The Italian thus keeps the title race open and comes back 24 lengths behind the Spaniard. The French Fabio Quartararo (6th) and Johann Zarco (11th) take points.
“I will give everything”promised Francesco Bagnaia after his fall during the Sepang sprint on Saturday. Pointed 29 lengths from his rival in the championship Jorge Martinthe Italian had to beat the Spaniard to take the title race to the season finale. Mission accomplished.
Today's round was played in two stages. Two starts had to be given due to a red flag after the first, due to a collision involving Brad Binder, Jack Miller et Fabio Quartararo. Everyone is doing well, even if the Frenchman is the only one who was able to leave (technical problem for the South African, medical treatment for a few minutes for the Australian).
In front, Bagnaia et Martin delivered a fantastic duel during the first three rounds. The Spaniard didn't need to take so many risks but he was determined to give it a try. He finally gave up after a few minutes, settling for 2nd place. The gap narrowed at the end of the race, but a few errors from Martinator then prevented him from returning to contact with Pecco. The Italian wins for the 10th time this season. 24 points difference between them, 37 still to be taken: the world crown will be decided in the final!
Enea Bastianini completes a 100% Ducati podium which previously belonged to Marc Marquezbefore the Spaniard fell. The No. 93 nevertheless left and returned 12th, taking 4 very important points: they allow it to remain in 3rd place in the championship, just ahead Bastianini. His brother Alex Marquez finished 4th after resisting Pedro Acosta5th and first non-Ducati rider on his KTM.
Competitive this weekend, the French Quarterly finished 6th and recorded Yamaha's best result in a long race this season. The Japanese brand also places its two representatives in the top-8 with Alex Rins 8th. They sandwich Aprilia's n°1, Maverick Viñales7e. Johann Zarco fought for the top-10 and finished 11th.
