CONAKRY-The National Committee for the Rally for Development (CNRD) took action this Saturday, November 2, 2024 to deny the “accusations” which claim that Guinea would host a foreign military base.

In a press release read from the Mohamed V palace, by the spokesperson for the Presidency, surrounded by several officers elevated to the rank of General last night, the CNRD swears that it has not existed anywhere on Guinean territory since 1958 until ‘in 2024, only one portion of the territory where there is a foreign soldier.

« False accusations have been made here and there to say that there were foreign (military) bases in Guinea. I say and reiterate that there is nowhere on Guinean territory, from 1958 until 2024, a single portion of our territory where there is a foreign soldier.

Guinea ensures (the defense) of its territorial integrity by itself and does not rely on any country to ensure its security and defense. We are categorical about these allegations », insisted General Amara Camara.

He assures that Guinea will not serve as a rear base for a foreign force to destabilize a neighboring state.

« We are not that country that will serve as a bastion or base for any force to destabilize a neighboring country. It is an insult to the Guinean Nation to say that there is a foreign base in Guinea. It’s denying ourselves, it’s not part of our values, we are a very proud people “, he clarified.
