Make diverse sexual orientations and different gender possibilities more visible, particularly in our rural areas. This is one of the objectives targeted by the collective “Les Bonnes débroussailleuses”, which is offering this Saturday, June 8, the 4th edition of the Pride March in Villefranche. In previous years, several hundred people, young and old, had participated in this demonstration.which is above all intended to be festive, friendly, but also political “as one of the organizers, Robin José, asserts, in a context where homophobic incidents have increased in recent times:”You should know that in 2023, there was a 13% increase in homophobic LGBTQIA incidents on the national territory. ” specifies the organizer.
Saturday, Pride Day
For this 4th edition, the ten organizers of this event have put together a rich and varied program, which will revolve around a pride march which will leave the Saint-Jean in the middle of the afternoon. A march obviously open to all, where there will be speeches from members of the collective and several artistic performances: “And there will be plenty of other surprises…” continues Robin, before all these little people meet up at the Borie des Pères for a festive and musical evening. “As in previous years, we really hope that there will be a lot of people. Its very important for us” concludes the member of the collective.
On the program for this day aimed at clearing up preconceived ideas:
– Meet from 1 p.m. at Place Saint-Jean for a big picnic out of the bag and the discovery of the associative village.
– At 3 p.m., the Pride March procession will set off from Place Saint-Jean to music, for a festive and political tour of the city.
– At 5:30 p.m., return to the Place du Saint-Jean for the presentation of the raffle prizes!
– Finally, from 6:30 p.m., concert evenings & DJ sets at 216 chemin de la Borie des Pères in Villefranche. The price is free.
