After the draw Friday evening between Boulogne and Valenciennes (0-0) for this 11th day of National, Carnejy Antoine spoke at the end of the meeting.
Is this a good point taken on the lawn of the Boulogne neighbor?
“Of course. We came here to look for as many points as possible. Today we came back with 1 point. It's always difficult to play on this kind of ground. For me that’s a very good point.”
You lacked offensive efficiency this evening…
“Yes of course. We had some action with Mathias (Oyewusi) and others but that's a shame and we're going to try to work on that part of the pitch. But for me we had a great collective match.”
Defensively you held up with the changes made, is that reassuring?
“Quite. That's what I said about the Coupe de France match. We conceded quite a few goals in the last minutes. We were aware that it was going to be complicated here, plus at the end we were reduced to 10 against 11. We had to stand around for 15 minutes. We have understood certain things and we must continue like this. I also wanted to congratulate Sakhalou (Niakaté) who had a very big match for his first with us. I thanked Jules after the match against Dijon. This proves that at the center we have excellent players and we must continue like this”
You showed real solidarity displayed 10 against 11 this evening.
“That was the watchword in the locker room. I told them that this match will be played out of solidarity. Boulogne is a good team that produces good football and we knew that they were going to give us the ball but that they were capable of playing. When we went to 10, we knew we had to hold back. We were all aware of it. On a corner, I talk to Joachim (Kayi Sanda) and I tell him that this is our moment. He understands straight away because he knows we concede goals in the last minutes. And there we showed defensive solidity. I come in, I make the defensive efforts, Eric (Moursou) too. It’s very important and we must continue like this.”
Does improving this point require a victory on Friday at home?
“Yes of course. When you go for 1 point away, the best thing is to take 3 points at home. We’re going to have a big week, we’re going to work well and we’re going to try to get them.”
