Motorsport Survey, 2024 Sports Election, Public Prize: What is your favorite 2024 Sports Car?

In a few days, Motorsport brings together this tempting field at Magny-Cours to elect its favorite sports car. It’s unique in ! The jury is made up of journalists/testers as well as gentlemen drivers, long-time owners of sports cars of all kinds. Emotion, performance and authentic sporting pleasure are at the heart of the debate. You will see that this field is once again very varied and takes into account the evolution of the automotive world, as evidenced by the presence of two electric sports cars. At the end of this presentation, we invite you to vote for the Public Prize until November 15.

Toyota GR Yaris Ogier Edition

The evolution of the sophisticated 280 hp all-wheel drive rally racer has us falling in love this year, improving its efficiency and punch. It is now also offered with an automatic transmission and is punished by a murderous penalty in France, but it has the merit of being imported. As part of the election, the editorial team has the honor of welcoming the Ogier edition, limited to 200 copies worldwide. It has a specific look and driving modes: Seb and Morizo.

Volkswagen GTi Club Sport

The GTi icon is not dead! It is even in great shape in the 300 hp Clubsport version. Sparkling, lively, efficient, the 8e generation of Golf is evolving smoothly this year in terms of looks and mechanics. The 2-liter turbo still grows sufficiently and the imposed dual-clutch gearbox finally supports sporty use.

Porsche 718 Spyder RS

Released at the start of the year, the Spyder RS brings the thermal career of the 718 Boxster to a successful close. We were totally captivated by its 500 hp atmospheric mechanics screaming up to 9,000 rpm and coming from the 992 GT3. Shod with semi-slicks, this authentic tracker adopts an adjustable suspension and hides a 991.2 GT3 front axle and a 981 GT4 rear axle. The soft top is only accessory and resists up to 200 km/h!

BMW M4 CS

After the sedan, the coupe is available in “Competition Sport” produced in only 1000 units. It also takes on the style of the CSL with red kidney grille contours, gold rims and a carbon hood. Equipped with a titanium exhaust, the twin-turbo in-line 6 delivers its maximum 550 hp to all four wheels (disengageable xDrive). The CS stands out above all for its completely reconfigured suspension which improves its efficiency on the track.

Audi RS6 Avant GT

For the end of the thermal career of its supersonic station wagon, Audi Sport lets loose and pays homage to the 90 quattro GTO which raced in IMSA at the end of the 80s (decoration not imposed). The GT multiplies the aero appendages and the carbon hood houses the twin-turbo V8 of the Performance version delivering 630 hp. We also find carbon on the wings, brake discs and bucket shells. This station wagon, limited to 660 units, surprises with its sway (management of the specific controlled differential) and its manually adjustable combinations.

Hyundai Ioniq 5N

The detractors of electric will scream! But this 650 hp sports car left its mark on the editorial staff with its performance, its efficiency and its unique ability to simulate the noise and gear changes of a thermal engine. The N sports department has the merit of throwing a spanner in the works and proving its know-how in electrics. The weight is certainly high, but this big sedan delivers great times.

Aston Martin Vantage

Her elder sister hardly shone in the 2018 election. Her replacement, who changes 80% of her pieces, intends to avenge her. The front fenders widen, like the rear track. The 4-liter twin-turbo V8 soars to 665 hp and is overflowing with character! And the evil tongues will be disappointed, this power goes well to the ground via an automatic gearbox rejected at the rear, a controlled differential and excellent tailor-made Michelins. The new vintage delights with its balance and its bite… And reserves many surprises in terms of timing!

McLaren 750S

This best-of McLaren know-how naturally deserves its place among this year's finalists. The twin-turbo V8 delivering 750 hp is very close to that of the 765 LT, in terms of thrust and sound. The editorial team was able to supertest the coupe with Pirelli Trofeo Rs and you will see that the times are very bad.

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT

Finally, we end this overview with the craziest evolution of the electric sedan reaching 1108 hp! We were able to test it and this Taycan set the clock soaring… To the point of establishing a new acceleration record for the magazine and lap time on the Club circuit in the sedan category. Electrics like these are enough to melt the most refractory, believe us!
